How we spend our time is up to you as a client, and I will be happy to help figure out timelines, and how long we might need to help you achieve your goals.

  • Taking a strengths-based, solution-focused approach, timelines are determined based on need instead of a rigid curriculum.

  • The goal is to build a schedule that is flexible and feasible for ongoing treatment that works for each individual.

  • Trauma work would be more structured but again based off of each individuals need to determine the duration of treatment, typically 8-20 sessions.

  • Intervention services are the most flexible in 15 min increments. This is an on-call service in addition to scheduled times and frequency that fit the therapeutic schedule we determine together.

  • Free 30 minute consultation to talk about how I might be able to help with your unique situation.

FOSTER FAMILY
SERVICES

I am the proud grandson of a man who grew up in an orphanage later becoming a Lt. Colonel in the Air Force. It has been my honor to have served hundreds of foster kids similarly challenged, through individual and family therapy, reunification/transition planning, and foster parent consultation.

My goal as an advocate is to help each client move from a difficult situation, in either crisis or struggle, onto a forward path. In therapeutic visitation and reunification, I try to be objective about a client’s needs first, while also weighing those needs against what is in the client’s best interest.

Individual Trauma work and individual therapy focuses on client confidentiality by creating trust in a safe place for growth. An individualized treatment plan is important to help the client feel confident in the therapeutic process.

Considering foster parenting, I am looking at stability and continuation of placement in support of foster parents as they navigate the needs and behaviors of their foster kids. Working towards family integration while supporting self care is an ongoing process and some families need Trauma Informed care.

Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation is about coaching client’s first and establishing a relapse prevention plan based on individual needs. It includes supporting individual and/or family interventions in the process of becoming sober. It involves working with multi-disciplinary teams such as family, caseworkers, probation officers, and taking a systems approach to relapse prevention and sobriety for long term success.

  Co-parentING & Conflict Resolution

Of paramount importance for any co-parenting plan is the goal to put the kids first as we determine the best plan going forward. Keeping that goal in mind determines how successful a parenting plan will be. Following several techniques to make sure that kids aren’t stuck in the middle of their parent’s differences, helps to minimize the effects of divorce. In most states it is possible to put separation agreements and parenting plans together without the need for litigation. Working together to develop a good plan for how to best minimize the effect of divorce on kids is both possible and important to their future well-being. I offer therapeutic coaching, (working with both parents and children) to understand how to implement these parenting techniques; to hear and understand the child’s perspective separately; and to help families put the pieces together in the most effective way possible.
